
LAFC Defeats Sporting Kansas City 2-1 in Home Opener

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) defeated Western Conference side Sporting Kansas City 2-1 on Sunday evening at Banc of California Stadium.
The visitors struck first through forward Krisztian Nemeth, taking the lead in the 16th minute. The Black & Gold evened the score at the start of the second half with a shot from forward Diego Rossi with midfielder Eduard Atuesta notching the assist. In stoppage time, second-half substitute Adama Diomande would give LAFC all three points after his right-footed rocket beat Sporting goalkeeper Tim Melia, sending Banc of California Stadium into a frenzy.
LAFC hosts the Portland Timbers next Sunday, March 10 at Banc of California Stadium. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 4:30 p.m. PT (FS1, ESPNLA 710AM, KWKW 980AM).
