LA Galaxy to Host First MLS Cup Playoff Match on Sunday, November 9th

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014) - The LA Galaxy announced today that the club will host its first 2014 MLS Cup Playoff match at StubHub Center on Sunday, Nov. 9, time TBD. Individual tickets for the second-leg of the 2014 Western Conference Semifinals will go on sale to the public starting Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The Galaxy will begin its First to Five postseason campaign as the club begins its quest to be the first MLS side to capture five MLS Cups when it plays on the road to kick off the Western Conference Semifinals. The Galaxy (17-5-9, 60 points) currently sit in second place in the Western Conference. Seeding and opponent to be determined over the course of the final three MLS regular season games.
A special ticket presale for 2014 and 2015 Season Ticket Members is on sale now, with individual tickets on sale to the general public beginning Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. PT. Group tickets for the Western Conference Semifinal are on sale now. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 1.877.3GALAXY (342-5299) or visiting www.lagalaxy.com/tickets .
MLS Cup Playoff strips are also currently on sale to all fans and include tickets to all three potential home games that the Galaxy play throughout the entirety of the 2014 MLS Cup Playoffs, including MLS Cup. Purchasing a strip is currently the only way to guarantee a seat for MLS Cup should the Galaxy host the game at StubHub Center on December 7.
Since the start of the 2009 season, the Galaxy have hosted 12 playoff games in Carson, including MLS Cup 2011 and 2012. In those 12 games, the Galaxy are 10-2-0 while they are 26-5-1 all-time in home playoff games.
Time, opponent, and broadcast information for the Galaxy's Semifinal match Nov. 9 will be determined at a later date. The full 2014 MLS Cup Playoffs schedule will be finalized following the regular season.
