August 8, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
LA Galaxy II News Release

LOS ANGELES - LA Galaxy II have signed defender Justin Fiddes, the club announced today. Fiddes, from San Diego, Calif., joins Los Dos after spending the first half of the season with Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

"We are excited to add Justin to our roster for the remainder of the season," said LA Galaxy II Head Coach Mike Muñoz. "He is a young prospect that we believe will challenge our players on defense and make an impact in the USL for us. He's hungry, he's eager and he's flexible. He can play on the left and right and in multiple formations."

To start his professional career, Fiddes was selected by the Whitecaps in the first round, 17th overall, in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft. Before being drafted, Fiddes played for four years at the University of Washington where he started 62 out of 70 games played for a total of 5,655 minutes. During his time as a Husky, Fiddes scored one goal and secured 10 assists. He earned second-team United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-Far West Region honors, as well as an All-Pac-12 honorable mention.

The 22-year-old defender was listed as a substitution against San Antonio FC last Saturday, and will be available for selection in LA Galaxy II's next match. Los Dos take on Fresno FC at 7:30 p.m. PT on Thursday, Aug. 9 at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. Tickets to the match are available here.
