Oshawa Generals News Release

Oshawa, ON - The Oshawa Generals announced today that captain, Kyle MacLean, has signed a one-year AHL contract with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

"He is the hardest working guy on and off the ice, he never quits, he plays for his teammates before himself and will put his individual success aside for a team win" said coach Greg Walters on MacLean's play. "When we as a coaching staff go into the room with a message, he is always one of the guys following what we are saying and leading by example."

Drafted in the fourth round, 78th overall in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, MacLean just completed his fourth season with Oshawa, where he has spent his entire Ontario Hockey League career. This past year, he has his most successful season on record by more than doubling his point totals reaching the 60-point (18G, 42A) mark. In mid-January, he was named captain of the Generals, leading the team to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2015. He was the Heart of a General Award winner the last two seasons at team's annual awards banquet for demonstrating leadership on and off the ice and the sportsmanship he continuously displays.

Before signing with the Sound Tigers, he previously attended the New York Islanders rookie and main camp in 2018.
