The Week 13 Edition of The Kurtiss Riggs Show will be broadcast LIVE on Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:45 PM on 1230 AM KWSN. The show is also broadcast online at www.kwsn.com. The show will focus on the Storm?s dramatic win vs. Sioux City on Saturday. Guests on this week?s program will include former Storm linebacker and current Special Teams Coach Donny Hilsenroth as well as Storm linebacker KeKe Bouie.
Storm Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs and ?The Voice of the Storm? Rich Roste will review the Storm?s thrilling 41-34 victory over the Sioux City Bandits on Saturday. The victory guaranteed the Storm a home playoff game and secured at least the #2 seed in the Western Conference playoffs. Riggs and Roste will also preview this Friday?s game in Colorado. With a win and an Omaha loss in Bloomington, Sioux Falls will clinch the #1 seed in the playoffs and a first-round bye.
Hilsenroth is in his fifth season as special teams coach for the Storm. This season the Storm leads the league with a 19.2 yard average on kick returns. Sioux Falls has four kick returns for touchdowns, including Shannon Poppinga?s 55-yard return in Sioux City with 11 seconds left in the game. Storm Special Teams has already broken a team record by returning missed field goals 245 yards this season. Donny had an unbelievable career as a player for the Storm from 2000-2003. Donny retired to become a Sioux Falls firefighter. Donny was involved in 342 tackles in his career and had his jersey (#46) retired during the 2005 season.
Bouie is in his first season with the Storm after spending training camp in 2007 with the New Orleans Saints. Bouie was picked up by the Saints as an undrafted free agent following the 2007 NFL Draft. Before starting his professional career, Bouie played college football at Florida International University (FIU). In his senior season in 2006, he was named College Football News?s Sunbelt Conference (SBC) Defensive Player of the Year. Despite missing the final two games due to injury, he cranked out 69 solo stops and was in on 51 assisted tackles to lead the SBC in tackles.
This week the Storm will travel to Fort Collins, CO to take on the Colorado Ice. Kickoff is set for 8:30 PM Central. The game will be broadcast LIVE on KOOL FM 107.9.
