Kristina Maksuti Signs Contract with North Carolina Courage

Cary, NC - The North Carolina Courage have signed Albania Women's National Team forward Kristina Maksuti through the 2020 season, the club announced today. Maksuti will be available for the NWSL Fall Series pending the receipt of her ITC.

Maksuti joins the Courage from MSV Duisberg, a German team in the Bundesliga where she played during the 2019-2020 season. Before playing in Germany, Maksuti played in the National Liga A in Switzerland for FF Lugano 1976. She was the leading goal scorer in the league during the 2018-2019 season.

Maksuti has made six appearances for the Albania Women's National Team, including four matches in the Women's World Cup Qualifiers in 2019. She has played a total of 390 minutes for her country.

The forward attended Fordham University from 2011-2015 where she made 60 appearances and scored 24 goals. Maksuti is a dual citizen of the United States and Albania.

The North Carolina Courage kickoff their NWSL Fall Series run this Friday, September 11 at 7 p.m. against the Houston Dash on Twitch.
