Kraig Chiles Named Sockers Player of the Week

Sockers forward Kraig Chiles was named the Sockers Player of the Week for the recently concluded second week of the PASL-Pro season. Chiles' two goals and assist helped the Sockers take down the Tacoma Stars 8-6 in the Sockers' home opener on November 20th at the Del Mar Arena.

Chiles, 26, opened the scoring on Saturday night with a goal from the left wing, and assisted on Dan Antoniuk's goal late in the first quarter which gave the Sockers a 4-1 lead. Later, when the Stars had rallied to make a game of it, Chiles' 2nd goal of the night capped San Diego's scoring, giving the Sockers an 8-4 lead which they nursed into an 8-6 victory.

With his three point night, Chiles tied Aaron Susi for the team lead with five points through two games. He has three goals and two assists on the season.

Chiles edged out Dan Antoniuk (two goals, assist) and Diego Rovira (two goals) for the Sockers' weekly honor.

The Sockers continue their three-game homestand on Saturday, November 27th when they play host to the California Cougars at the Del Mar Arena. Game time is set for 6:15pm. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free Sockers logo T-shirt courtesy of Sonic, America's Drive In. The game will be broadcast live on 619Sports.Net and carried via tape delay on Channel 4 San Diego on Wednesday, December 1st.
