Kraig Chiles Named PASL-Pro Player of the Week

Already twice honored as the Sockers player of the week, forward Kraig Chiles was today named the PASL-Pro's top player for the week of January 1st-8th in a vote of league front office members. It's Chiles' first league weekly honor and his third of the year from the team. Burnishing his MVP credentials, Chiles scored a natural hat trick from the second to fourth quarters as the Sockers defeated the Cincinnati Kings 10-4. Chiles potted the eventual game-winning goal against the Eastern Division-leading Kings midway through the second quarter, then added a goal in the third and a power play tally in the fourth quarter to help the Sockers pull away for the victory.
On the season, Chiles' 18 goals and 26 points rank second behind Ohio's Allen Eller for the PASL-Pro lead. His eight assists already double his total from last season.
Chiles outpaced Eller (five goals in a loss) and Detroit's "Count" Decu (four goals) for the league's weekly honor. On the San Diego front, honorable mentions were given to Brian Farber (goal, two assists in debut) and Scotty Martin (three assists).
San Diego's next game is Saturday January 15th at Estadio Furati in Tijuana, Mexico, taking on Revolucion Tijuana. The game can be seen and heard exclusively on the Sockers' broadcast partner 619Sports.net starting at 7:05pm.
