
Kossoff Named NAHL Goaltender of the Month

CONNELLSVILLE, PA - The Keystone Ice Miners are proud to announce that goaltender Nick Kossoff has been named the NAHL's goaltender of the month for January. Kossoff becomes the first Ice Miner to win the award this season after having a month to remember. Kossoff went 4-1-0 with a 1.57 goals-against-average and a .954 save percentage in five starts in January. Along the way, he posted two shutouts - January 2nd against Fairbanks (2-0) and January 23rd against Springfield (4-0). He also made two 40+ save efforts - 44 saves in a 3-2 loss to Fairbanks on January 3rd and 40 saves in a 3-2 shootout win at Johnstown on January 16th. He surrendered only eight goals in the five starts.
Kossoff, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, is in his first season in the NAHL, and likely his last, as he recently committed to play DI hockey next season at Lake Superior State University. Overall this season, he has a 10-5-1 record with a 2.14 goals-against-average, a .936 save percentage, and 4 shutouts.
Forward A.J. Coleman and defenseman Lordanthony Grissom were also honorable mentions at their respective positions.
