Battle Creek Knights News Release


Battle Creek, Michigan- The Battle Creek Knights professional basketball team is at home this week for one game, Friday, June 8th vs. 2nd place, 14-2, Marysville Meteors, tip off time 7:15 p.m., at Kellogg Arena. The Maryville Meteors are lead in scoring by Michael Brownlee with a 25.6 points per game average. The Knights current scoring leaders are Lamont Barnes averaging 28 points per game and Nick Zachary is close behind with a 27.8 points per game average in IBL league play this season. Starting Friday, the Knights will have 7 games to play in a 15 day stretch to close out the 07 IBL regular season.

The BC Knights, Friday, June 8th, home contest is Freaky Friday. Advance tickets are $4.00 each. At the door, $5.00 each. Zeke the Wonder Dog & Friends will be making a return appearance to entertain all fans in attendance at half time.

The Knights will head on the road for an IBL rematch against Marysville on Sunday, June 10th, at 2 p.m. in the Buckeye State. The Knights-Meteors games this weekend (June 8th and June 10th ) can be heard through the following internet websites: www.bcknights.com, www.stgabrielradio.com, www.iblhoopsonline.com, and www.marysvillemeteors.com.

The Knights players, coaches, and mascot are going to be out in the Cereal City area doing community events this week:

Bedford Elementary from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 5th.

Endeavor Academy from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 6th.

Cereal Festival Parade, Thursday, June 7th, 6 p.m.

The Knights would like to thank WOLY AM 1500, U.S. Storage Depot, Battle Creek Central Cheerleaders, and Illegal Motion Dance Team, for being partners in the Car Wash fundraiser at the U.S. Storage Depot on Saturday, June 2nd.

Do not forgot to get your Illegal Motion Dance Team 18 month calendar ($10) at any BC Knights home game at Kellogg Arena this season!
