Knights Sign Three Players as Blueprint for Roster is Coming Together

Battle Creek, Michigan-The Battle Creek Knights today, Thursday, March 17th, 2005, announce the signings of Bobby Madison, Jason Elder, and Ismeal Joyce for the team's first season in the International Basketball League starting April 9th vs. the Vancouver Volcanoes.

Bobby Madison, a 6'5 forward, attended Shelby County High School (Columbiana, Alabama), Southern Union State Community College, and Western Michigan University. Bobby was a first team Junior College All American as a sophomore at Southern Union State Community College. "I'm looking forward to being a part of a professional team like the Knights that is located close to Western Michigan University where I played basketball at from 2002-2004," Bobby Madison said of his signing with the Knights.

Jason Elder, a 6'3 guard, attended Jonesville High School and Spring Arbor College. Jason was an All State basketball player is Senior Year at Jonesville High School. Jason was also Spring Arbor College's second all time leading scorer behind Battle Creek's own Jackie Evans. Jason was first team NAIA All American his junior and senior year at Spring Arbor College. Jason is also involved in coaching boy's basketball at Gull Lake High School. "Jason is the type of player who plays with intensity on the court and the type of person who is community involved and a positive role model off the court," David Darkey, Battle Creek Knights general manager, stated on Jason's signing with the Knights.

Ishmeal Joyce, a 6'3 guard, attended White Station High School (Memphis, Tennessee), Illinois State University, and Jackson State University. Ishmeal was a first team All SWAC Conference All Star at Jackson State. Ishmael led Jackson State in scoring and was 2nd in rebounding between 2001 and 2004. "I am happy to be a part of the Battle Creek community and the Knights professional basketball team for the upcoming season", Ishmeal Joyce said of his signing with Battle Creek Knights.
