Battle Creek Knights News Release


The Battle Creek Knights split a pair of home games this past weekend to maintain a record of 7 wins, 6 losses. The Knights won on Friday, May 12th, by the score of 150-149, over their arch rival, Lansing Capitals. However, the Knights took it on the chin, Saturday, May 13th, being defeated by a 146-143 score in overtime, to the Holland Blast.

Battle Creek is on the road for this upcoming weekend with a Friday, May 19th, contest, vs. the Macomb County Mustangs in Centerline, Michigan. Macomb County is 2-5 on the season. The Mustangs are 0-2 during the 06 IBL season vs. the Knights. Game time at Macomb County is 7:15 p.m.

The Knights finish up the weekend in the Buckeye State (Ohio) vs. the 6-7 Cuyahoga Falls Cougars on Sunday, May 21st, with a 6 p.m. tip off time. Battle Creek will be looking to avenge a 3 point road loss to the Cougars back on April 22nd. Cuyahoga Falls is led in scoring by Jay Youngblood (Kent State) with 26. 2 point per game average.

The Battle Creek Knights next home game is Friday, June 16th, vs. the Macomb County Mustangs. Tip off time is 7:15 p.m. The Knights are naming this game night Celebration Friday. Celebration Friday will salute various Battle Creek community organizations for their positive influence on area youth.

Celebration Friday will also serve as a prelude to the start of Juneteenth Celebrations. There will be a special halftime presentation to recognize the June 19th observance.

The Knights mascot (Sir Jam A Lot) will be out in Battle Creek this week attending the Dudley Elementary School Fun Fair at 5:30 p.m., Friday, May 19th. Sir Jam A lot will wrap up his weekend greeting individuals at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 21st, for the Cystic Fibrosis event, at the Leila Arboretum.
