
Knights Edge Out IronPigs

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, PA) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (59-48) lost to the Charlotte Knights (41-66) on Wednesday evening by a score of 2-1.
Bailey Falter was strong for the IronPigs as he gave up just one hit and issued two walks with eight strikeouts recorded. He retired the final 13 batters he faced. The IronPigs gave Falter a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning as Scott Kingery scored on an RBI groundout hit by Jack Conley against John Parke.
The Knights were able to tie the game at 1-1 against Sam Coonrod in the top of the seventh inning as Micker Adolfo hit an RBI double with two outs that scored Carlos Perez. Charlotte jumped ahead to 2-1 in the top of the eighth inning as Jake Burger hit an RBI single against Tyler Cyr (2-3) that would score Yolbert Sanchez.
Dan Winkler (4-0) earned the win for Charlotte by pitched 2/3 of a scoreless inning. Bennett Sousa earned the save by pitching a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning. Dalton Guthrie extended his hitting streak to eight games with a single in the first inning.
The IronPigs and Charlotte Knights continue their six-game series on Thursday at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
