Bend Elks News Release

The Bend Elks lost to the Corvallis Knights 6-2 Tuesday evening at Goss Stadium in Corvallis.

The Elks took the early lead in the 2nd inning when Nick Osuna and Billy King both singled. Joe Carroll laid down a sacrifice bunt to move the runners to 2nd and 3rd before Curtis Wildung came to the plate and cleared the bases with a 2 RBI double. That did it for the Elks scoring for the evening. Elks starting pitcher Zack Carter took the loss and is now 3-1 for the season. Carter kept the Knights off the scoreboard until the 6th when the first 4 Knights he faced reached base. He gave up a lead off single, then he hit the next batter before walking the next 2 Knights. That did it for Carter who left the mound with the bases loaded. He was then relieved by Michael Bennett. Bennett walked the first batter he faced then threw a wild pitch allowing allowing another run to score. He then gave up a double allowing 4 Corvallis runs to cross the plate before getting out of the inning. That was all the runs needed by Corvallis, as only one more Elk reached base after the 7th. Corvallis added 2 insurance runs in the 8th.

With tonights win, the Knights clinched the South division title.
