Knighthawks To Welcome Local Sports Stars And Mascots Saturday

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knighthawks will host local sports celebrities and mascots on Saturday, January 31st at The Blue Cross Arena as the Knighthawks host the Toronto Rock in a National Lacrosse League contest. The game will be broadcast live on WYSL 1040-AM and wysl1040.com. Fans can watch the game live online via the NLL Network at NLL.com and on knighthawks.net.

Prior to the game, fans can meet and get autographs from Rochester Red Wings manager Stan Cliburn and Rhinos goalie Scott Vallow in the upper atrium lobby. Fans of all ages can also get high-fives from Red Wings mascots Spikes and Mittsy, Rex the Rhino, The Amerks Moose, and the Amerks and Knighthawks Eagle, R. Thunder.

The sports stars are part of the Knighthawks Sports Night, which also includes the franchise's inaugural Hall of Fame Night. The evening is sponsored by CURE Childhood Cancer Association and IKON Office Solutions. The Knighthawks will induct former Head Coach Paul Day and forwards Tim Soudan and Duane Jacobs.

The historic evening will also include a jersey auction to honor the Hall of Fame inductees, as three 1997 replica championship jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds going to CURE Childhood Cancer Association. The silent auction will also include 1997 jerseys for current Knighthawks John Grant and Gary Gait. Further, the Knighthawks will hold an autograph session at the end of the game on the turf, which will feature the Hall of Fame inductees, and past and present Knighthawks players and coaches.
