Knighthawks to Host UAR Jersey Auction
February 25, 2015 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Rochester Knighthawks News Release
The Rochester Knighthawks will hold their annual Men's Health Night to benefit the Urology Associates of Rochester on Saturday, February 28th. The Knighthawks will wear special blue jerseys as they host the Calgary Roughnecks at 7:30 p.m. at Connors & Ferris Field at The Blue Cross Arena.
The team will auction off the jerseys to raise money for Zero - The Project to End Prostate Cancer and The Lipson Cancer Center at Rochester General. The online auction for the game-worn, individually signed jerseys begins at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26th via www.biddingowl.com/rochesterknighthawks and ends at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28th. Make sure to bid early because the auction features a Click to Purchase option. Fans with the winning bids will receive their jersey directly off the players' backs, following the game.
"The jersey auction has become an event we look forward to each season," said Knighthawks President Lewis Staats. "We encourage our fans to join us in supporting UAR's efforts to raise awareness for prostate cancer during our annual Men's Health Night."
Urology Associates of Rochester is a full service urology practice dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of its patients in western New York. During the game, UAR will provide free blood tests on the Blue Party Deck to screen men for prostate cancer. It's so easy that Knighthawks Broadcaster Craig Rybczynski will get his blood tested while calling the game.
To join the fight by bidding on the Knighthawks jerseys, and learn about other steps you can take to help spread awareness and fight prostate cancer, call the Knighthawks' office at (585) 454-4295.
