Rochester Knighthawks News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The American Red Cross Blood Services and the Rochester Knighthawks lacrosse team are partnering to combat the blood shortage in Rochester, as part of the "Give Blood, Get Knighthawks Lacrosse" program.
To boost regional blood supplies and help save the lives of patients in need of blood products, all presenting whole blood and apheresis blood donors in the Rochester area throughout the month of March will receive one free $22.00 ticket to any one of the remaining three regular season Knighthawks' games at The Blue Cross Arena. All additional tickets will cost $15.00 each and can be purchased at The Blue Cross Arena box office. The Knighthawks final three home games are on Saturday, March 31st, Saturday, April 7th and Saturday, April 14th.
All current eligible and new donors are strongly urged to call 1-800-GIVE LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or visit www.DonateBloodNow.org as soon as possible to schedule an appointment to donate blood.
Anyone 16 years or older, weighing at least 110 pounds and in general good health may be eligible to donate blood. In New York State, 16 year olds may donate blood provided they bring an original signed New York State Informed Parental Consent for a 16 year old to Donate Whole Blood to the blood drive. The consent form can be found at www.DonateBloodNow.org/16. Identification is required to donate blood.
The Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League and the American Red Cross Blood Services formed a similar partnership in November to put the "freeze" on blood shortage.
