
Knighthawks Going for Three as They Host Rock

The Rochester Knighthawks will end their three-game homestand this Saturday when they host the Toronto Rock on Native American Night. The evening will feature an appearance by a traditional stick maker, Native American dances, artisans and much more. Tickets are currently available for the 7:30 p.m. contest by calling the Knighthawks' office at (585) 454-4295.
Head-to-Head: The Knighthawks lead the all-time regular season series against the Rock with a record of 20-19. At home, Rochester owns a 16-4 regular season record against Toronto.
Knighthawks News: The Knighthawks are off to a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2010 season after defeating the Philadelphia Wings, 13-9, last Saturday. Dan Dawson was the first star of the game with six points (3+3), while Cody Jamieson earned second star with a game-high eight points (2+6). The Knighthawks raced out to a 10-3 lead in the third quarter, following an 8-0 run which included a 6-0 second quarter. Goalie Matt Vinc held the Wings scoreless for over 24 minutes. Dylan Evans won 10 faceoffs against the Wings to move into fifth place in the NLL with 22 wins this season. This week, Rochester activated defenseman Jon Sullivan and goalie Angus Goodleaf.
Fast Start: With a win Saturday, Rochester will equal the team record for consecutive wins to start a season with three, which was set in 1998.
'Vno' leading the NLL: Matt Vinc owns the top goals-against average (7.50) and save percentage (.837). Vinc is the only three-time winner of the NLL's Goalie of the Year award.

- Joel McCready is on a nine-game goal scoring streak.
- Cody Jamieson needs five goals to reach 100.
- Johnny Powless needs four points to reach 100.
- Joe Walters needs three points to reach 100.
- Brad Self needs one point to reach 150.
- Paul Dawson has played in 99 NLL games.
Toronto notes: The Rock are 1-1 after falling 12-10 to the Buffalo Bandits on January 10th. In the loss, Toronto captain Colin Doyle scored his 400th career goal as a member of the Rock as part of a five-point effort (3+2). Josh Sanderson also chipped in with four assists. Stephan Leblanc scored three goals and added one assist, while Garrett Billings collected four assists. Billings leads the NLL with 13 assists, while Leblanc is tied for third with eight goals. In goal, Nick Rose stopped 43 shots and is fourth in the league with 83 saves.
Next Game: The Knighthawks will hit the road for the first time this season when they battle the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday, January 25th at 7:30 p.m.
Next Home Game: After two straight road games, the Knighthawks return will home on Saturday, February 8th to host the Buffalo Bandits at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are currently available by calling the Rochester Knighthawks' office at (585) 454-4295.
