Rochester Knighthawks News Release

The Rochester Knighthawks will host the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday, April 23rd at 8:00 p.m. at Connors & Ferris Field at The Blue Cross Arena. That evening, the Knighthawks will hold their annual Native American Night.

The event will feature Native American artisans, music and dancers. Fans can enter a raffle to win a wooden lacrosse stick, courtesy of Traditional Lacrosse. The Knighthawks will also sell Native American Night special edition T-shirts at the game while supplies last.

Rochester enters the game just one half game out of third place in the East Division. The Knighthawks (6-9) need to win to keep the pressure on the Georgia Swarm (7-9), who are currently in possession of the final playoff spot in the division.

The Knighthawks will need a big game from their defense, which is tied for second in goals against this season (179). After 15 games, goalie Matt Vinc is second in the league in saves (513) and minutes played (772), while ranking fifth in goals-against average (11.35).

The game against Buffalo is the third and final regular season installment between the WNY rivals. Rochester leads the all-time series with a record of 34-24.

Dawson will become NLL's Ironman: Dan Dawson will break Shawn Williams' NLL Ironman record of 230 consecutive games on Saturday. Dawson, who began his streak back on March 9, 2002, will play in his 231st consecutive game.

Dawson Just One Away: Dan Dawson is one point away from becoming just the fifth player in league history to record 1,200 career points.

Hasen to hit 100: Knighthawks head coach Mike Hasen will coach in his 100th regular season game on Saturday, becoming only the second Rochester bench boss to reach the mark. Assistant coach Paul Day owns the team's record of 114 games, which he amassed as the Knighthawks head coach from 1998-2005.

Jamieson closing in on two milestones: "Jammer" needs five goals to reach 200 in his career. He also needs to play in just two more games to reach the century mark.

Honoring the Best: After the game, the Knighthawks will hold their 2016 Awards Night. The team will hand out the awards for Most Valuable Player, Offensive MVP, Best Defenseman, Community Service and Rookie of the Year. The Knighthawks will also present the Seventh Man Award and the Wolf Pack Award, which recognize the players and/or staff who have gone above and beyond over the past season.

Broadcast Details: The game this week will be broadcast on 107.3 The Bull. Fans can listen to the contest on their mobile devices and computers by downloading the iHeartRadio app at iHeartRadio.com. The game will also be carried live on FOX Sports GO.

Next Game: The Rochester Knighthawks will host the Saskatchewan Rush on Saturday, April 30th at 7:30 p.m. at Connors & Ferris Field. The game is one of two next weekend, as Rochester ends the regular season Sunday in New England. On April 30th, the Knighthawks will hold Fan Appreciation Night. The Knighthawks will wear special fan-themed jerseys, which will be raffled off to season ticket holders at the game. Prior to the contest, the Knighthawks will honor the memory of their fans who have passed during the last year.
