Harrisburg goes scoreless in three of four quarters

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Heat failed to score in three of the game's four quarters in falling by the score of 16-6 to the Philadelphia KiXX at the Farm Show Arena on Thursday night. With the loss, Harrisburg falls to 8-26 on the season. Philadelphia improves to 24-11. Doug Petras (8 saves) takes the loss for the Heat, while Peter Pappas (20 saves) gets the win.

The Heat was buried by an unsightly start, surrendering a pair of 2pgs in the first minute of the game, to Don D'Ambra 12 seconds in and Joel Shanker 56 seconds in. Kevin Sloan (11:08 of the first) and Pat Morris (22 seconds into the second) increased the KiXX lead to 8-0 before Matt Tanzini (6:29) finally got the on the board with a 2pg. Wendell Regis (8:36) and Zoran Karic (13:38) sandwiched Heat 2gps around a deuce from Shanker at 9:02, and it was 10-6 Philadelphia at halftime.

The second half was all KiXX. Joe Scigliano (3:47) and Jim Hesch (9:45) accounted for the all third-quarter scoring to make it 14-6, KiXX, heading into the fourth, and D'Ambra iced the victory with a deuce 51 seconds into the final frame. Any Heat opportunities were stifled by Pappas and the Philly defense (which blocked 15 shots), and Harrisburg suffered the 16-6 defeat.

NOTES: Harrisburg is in action again this Saturday, March 16, when the club hosts the Cleveland Crunch. Game time at the Farm Show Arena is 7:35 p.m. Cleveland and Harrisburg also play at the CSU Convocation Center on Sunday the 17th; game time at the Convo is 2:05 p.m.
