August 19, 2003 - Frontier League (FL)
Kalamazoo Kings News Release

After losing 9-2 last night to Evansville, Kalamazoo came back strong Monday night and won 8-7.

The Otters put up at least one run in everyone inning except the 1st and 9th, but it was not enough to stop the Kings offensive explosion. The Kings put up 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the 2nd inning. A key at bat came when Steve Hindman ripped a liner into the leftfield corner for a 2 run double. The Kings came back with 2 more in the third and held the lead into the sixth inning. The Otters scored a run in the 6th and 7th to take a 7-5 lead. Kalamazoo added a run in the 7th and 2 more in the 8th. The game winning RBI came from Darren Uranga's bat in the bottom of the 8th. The winning pitcher was Lee Naplin of the Kings who pitched 3 1/3 innings in relief.

The Kings and Otters go at it again Tuesday night at Homer Stryker Field at 6:35 pm.
