Kings stage miracle rally, defeat Rockstars

Peoria, IL. The ABA Peoria Kings rallied from a 28 points second half deficit to defeat the Chicago Rockstars 114-111 at the Peoria River Plex on Saturday. The Kings scored only three points in the second period and fell behind Chicago 57-33 at halftime and still trailed by 19 points with 8 minutes to go in the game.

Peoria scored 32 points in the final 6:34, including an 18-4 run to end the game. Todd Peterson hit three 3-pointers down the stretch, the last one from deep on the right wing to give the Kings a 112-111 lead with 1:20 left. Peterson finished with 21 points, including 5 of 10 three pointers. ABA All-Star Bobby Anderson again led the Kings with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Marion Brooks and Willie Coleman added 17 and 12 respectively. Peoria improved to 9-12 on the season.

The rally upstaged a phenomenal performance by Chicago guard Tony Bennett. The former Bradley University star poured in 38 points and chipped in with 7 assists and 5 steals. For more information, visit www.peoriakings.com or www.abalive.com.
