Lubbock Cotton Kings News Release

LUBBOCK Lubbock Cotton Kings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kirk Tomlinson announced today that the team has re-signed forward and captain Dave MacIntyre.

"I know the fans have been waiting for this one," said Tomlinson. "Mack is such a huge part of our team not only on the scoreboard but in the dressing room."

"It's good to have Captain Mack back," said forward Paul Fioroni.

MacIntyre, 6-0, 195 native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, has played for the Kings for the last three seasons. The last two years for the Kings, MacIntyre has lit the lamp 55 times. He is currently spending the summer in Alberta running hockey schools, according to Fioroni. Last year MacIntyre started slowly scoring seven goals in the first three months of the season. The last half of the season he exploded with 19 goals and 44 points.

"We expect him to catch fire early," said Tomlinson. "He must hit the 30 goal plateau a slow start like last season is unacceptable."

MacIntyre is the ninth player signed this year by the Kings. MacIntyre is in his second season as a veteran and fills the third of five veteran spots leaving two spots for Tomlinson.

"I feel really good about our team right now," said Tomlinson. "I am going to use the last two veteran spots to sign some more skill and toughness."

This season, Tomlinson promises a more entertaining style of hockey. With that said, there is no excuse not to pick up your season tickets today. Season tickets for the coveted gold level are going fast but are still available by calling 747-PUCK(7825). Single game seats go on sale September 29 .
