Kings Knot Series with 10-4 Win

Kalamazoo Kings News Release

The Kalamazoo Kings defeated the Lake Erie Crushers 10-4 Wednesday night to even the best of five series at a game apiece.

The night started off dreary as the Crushers carried the momentum from last night's come from behind victory to put up 3 runs in the top of the first while also knocking out Kings' starter Joe DiPietro when he took a line drive off his leg. Plus, with Pitcher of the Year Paul Fagan on the mound for the Crushers, who beat the Kings three times in the regular season, a comeback looked rough.

However, the Kings pieced together five straight run scoring innings, which included knocking Fagan out in the fifth, hitting four HR's, and holding Lake Erie to three hits and one run over the last eight innings for the comeback win.
