Champion City Kings News Release

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Champion City Kings are revealing one player from the 2015 roster each Friday this offseason. This week, the Kings are pleased to announce that infielder Connor Foley from Saginaw Valley State University (NCAA DII, GLIAC) will join the club for the upcoming season, which will begin May 27 against the Richmond RiverRats at Carleton Davidson Stadium.

"Whenever there is a rally going, Connor is always involved. He's always getting on base when the team is struggling to start something," said Kings manager Chris Perkovich. "He is a guy that has great speed and with a great bat that rarely strikes out at the top of the lineup."

As Foley gears up for his sophomore season with the Cardinals this Spring, he will be looking to build off of a solid freshman season where he led the team in hitting with a .346 average and tallied a .388 on-base percentage.

"Connor uses all sides of the field when hitting, you will see him pull a ball past the third baseman or put one down the line past the right fielder's head," Perkovich said. "He's the type of player opposing pitchers hate to face because they can never figure out how to pitch to him."

Foley spent his first season of college ball at third base and tallied 24 putouts and 60 assists through 44 games played.

"Having an infielder that is a threat on the base paths is vital to a successful team," said Perkovich. "Connor provides a very strong bat with speed to go with it."

Foley is one of four Saginaw Valley State players on the Kings roster for 2015.

The Kings begin the 2015 season at home Wednesday, May 27 against the Richmond RiverRats at 7:05 p.m. Season ticket and advertising information is available by contacting the general manager Rick White via email at rwhite@championcitykings.com or by calling the team at (937) 342-0320.
