
Killer Bees Meets C.A.M.P. University

HIDALGO, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees hosted a player meet-and-greet, tour of the locker room and ice rink, activities, and luncheon for C.A.M.P. University on Wednesday, September 25 at the State Farm Arena.
The event allowed players of the Killer Bees to interact with members of the local organization, C.A.M.P. University. Once the participants arrived at the arena, the players greeted them with an introduction to the team which was followed by a tour around the ice rink.
The group was educated on playing hockey and game day operations. Players also showed their locker rooms and played an activity called Box Hockey with the participants.
C.A.M.P. University is a non-profit organization that offers a variety of programs for special needs high school graduates. Several services the organization provides are a day program that includes activities in the arts, life skills, training, academics, and social training. Participation in the Special Olympics year-round in various sports is also a big service that C.A.M.P. University administers for their members.
The Killer Bee's home opener weekend is Saturday, September 28 at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, September 29 at 4:05 p.m. at the State Farm Arena.
