Kids Opening Day on the horizon

Memphis, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds and Baptist Pediatric Care will host Kids Opening Weekend Sunday, April 13 at AutoZone Park.

Kids will fill a variety of positions as honorary Redbirds staff members before and during the game. The RedHots will be joined by the junior RedHots and kids will also fill the positions of General Manager, Team Manager and Public Address Announcer.

The Public Address Announcer will introduce the teams with the starting lineups prior to the game. The General Manager will take part in important decisions concerning the park and the fans. The Team Manager will exchange the Redbirds lineup with the Omaha Royals and umpires at home plate before the game. Junior RedHots will dance and sling t-shirts with the RedHots throughout the game. Kids can register for the Baptist Pediatric Kids' Opening Day contest to become an honorary Redbirds staff member at memphisredbirds.com.

Prior to Sunday's game the first 1,500 kids arriving to the park will be given a free P.D. Parrot plush doll courtesy of Baptist Pediatric Care. P.D. Parrot will also be on-site to meet and greet fans.
