RICHMOND, VA - (Thursday, March 15, 2007) - The Richmond Kickers would like to invite your child to join the Hunt! A Spring Egg Scavenger Hunt will be held during halftime at the Kickers season home opener, Saturday, April 7th when the Kickers host the Virginia Beach Mariners (USL1) in the 10th edition of the James River Cup. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at the University of Richmond Stadium (just off the Downtown Expressway). Free to children ages four through nine, the Egg Hunt will take place on the field with candy, prizes and more! Registration will take place during the first half of the match, on the main concourse. Limited to first 50 registrants.

James River Cup

At stake is the 2007 James River Cup, a competition and local tradition between Richmond and Virginia Beach based on total points at the end of all matches played between the two teams. Beginning in 1996, the James River Cup competition has been in existence for eleven seasons as a local derby between the two clubs (the Mariners did not field a team in 1997 or 2001). The Kickers held the James River Cup consistently for seven seasons (1998-2000, 2002-2005) before the Mariners were able to capture the title prior to the 2006 campaign.

Tickets

Regular priced admission will apply for the Kickers vs. Virginia Beach Mariners, James River Cup match ($12/adult, $7/youth). This home game is included in the Kickers season flexi-pack packages. For season ticket information or to order tickets online, visit www.RichmondKickers.com.
