Richmond Kickers News Release

RICHMOND, VA - (Saturday, April 22, 2006) - The Richmond Kickers announced today that the regular season home opener versus the Cincinnati Kings, scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd at 7:00 p.m. has been postponed due to severe weather forecasts this evening. With the threat of lightning and hail tonight, the game has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, April 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at the University of Richmond Stadium. Gates will open at 1:00 p.m.

Tickets for the Kickers home opener will be honored at the match rescheduled for tomorrow or at the Kickers next home game versus the Long Island Rough Riders on Saturday, May 6th. Fans should present their April 22nd versus Cincinnati Kings game tickets at the gate to gain admittance.

"It is unfortunate to have to postpone our home opener, however given the high potential for severe weather including strong thunderstorms and hail, we make this decision in the best interest of everyone involved, teams and fans alike," comments Richmond Kickers General Manager Paul Sterbenz. "We welcome fans to join us on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the re-scheduled time, and all pre-sold game tickets for the April 22nd game will be accepted on Sunday, as well all season passes are applicable."
