Real Salt Lake News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - Real Salt Lake and KFC Restaurants are proud to announce that the popular KFC Colonel's Corner will remain a fixture at every RSL home regular season match for a third straight season. KFC Colonel's Corner vouchers for each of RSL's 15 home MLS contests - including this Saturday's season opener against Cuauhtémoc Blanco and the Chicago Fire at 4:00 p.m. MT - are now available for purchase at 35 participating KFC locations across the Salt Lake area, a full list of which can be found by clicking here or on the KFC Colonel's Corner link in the "Fans & Sponsors" section of www.RealSaltLake.com.
"KFC has been an outstanding partner and supporter of Real Salt Lake since the club's beginning, and we couldn't be happier to be teaming up with them for a fourth season," said RSL General Manager Garth Lagerwey. "Our fans have taken advantage of the KFC Colonel's Corner in increasing numbers during the first two seasons of the offer, and we expect to see the southeast corner at Rice-Eccles Stadium to be packed with even more RSL fans in 2008, beginning this Saturday."
The KFC Colonel's Corner vouchers for Corner Flag section seats will remain at last season's $14 price - a $5.00 savings - as KFC's generous support continues to allow fans the opportunity to purchase the most affordable single-game ticket available for RSL contests. In addition to this popular ticketing program, KFC will be continuing their sponsorship at Real Salt Lake games with an exciting new version of the "KFC Kickin' for Chicken Halftime Contest," a brand new "Bucket Brigade" booth in Carnival Real where fans young and old alike can make their own KFC bucket hats, and a number of other entertaining promotions that will be introduced throughout the 2008 campaign.
"The KFC and RSL promotional partnership has proven to be one of those rare "win-win" situations where both sides truly benefit from the arrangement," said Bruce Phillips of KFC Marketing and Advertising. "We look forward to continuing our relationship as RSL begins what should be a terrific 2008 season both in the stands and on the field."
To help kick off this year's KFC Colonel's Corner program and the 2008 Real Salt Lake season, fans can visit a pair of KFC locations this Wednesday, March 26, to get a great meal and grab some autographs from some of their favorite RSL players. In addition, the RSL Merchandise Dept. will be on hand at both KFC locations with officially-licensed 2008 Real Salt Lake/adidas gear, including the new line of Adult and Youth jerseys, RSL mini and size 5 soccer balls, pre-game jerseys, half-zip jackets, scarves, watches, backpacks, and "Committed to the Core" Tee-Shirts - all priced at 30% off to help RSL fans get ready for this Saturday's contest against Chicago:
RSL invites fans to grab a late lunch with MF Kyle Beckerman, FW Robbie Findley, and GK Nick Rimando, who will appear at the KFC Café location at 3900 S. State Street from 1:15-3:15 p.m. MT. In addition, KALL 700 Sports will be live on site to host a live remote of its afternoon Reality Check program, with hosts Spencer Checketts and Frank Dolce, during the appearance.
If dinner's more the style, fans can also hop on over to the KFC location at 2450 S. Redwood Road from 4:00-6:00 p.m. to buy their tickets for Opening Day, purchase their RSL gear, and snag even more signatures from RSL's South American quintet of MF Matias Cordoba, FW Fabian EspÃndola, DF Matias Mantilla, MF Javier Morales, and DF Jamison Olave.
