Frederick Keys General Manager Dave Ziedelis will present a $5000 donation to the ALS Association
DATE: Wednesday, November 10
PLACE & TIME: The ceremony will be held in the Keys Café at Harry Grove Stadium at 2:00 pm.
DETAILS: The donation is made possible through a Jersey auction, where the Frederick Keys auctioned Commemorative 1954 Orioles Jerseys, which were worn by the Keys' players as part of a 2004 season promotion "Throwback Thursdays" sponsored by 98 YRC.
ALS ASSOCIATION INFORMATION: The ALS Association is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to finding the cause and cure of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is devastating and always fatal neuromuscular disease. The diagnosis is not only a devastating and affects the patient but also affects family members and friends. The DC/MD/VA Chapter is the primary resource for ALS patients and their families. All programs and services offered to area patients are free of charge. Services such as: Medical Equipment, Assistive Technology, Clinic and Home Visits, Support Groups, Respite Care, Education, Transportation and Informational Services. The Chapter continually strives to improve the scope of those services, particularly with respect to quality of life. Donations make a difference in this regard, as well as help the Chapter in its efforts to raise public awareness of the disease and to fund research on the cause and possible cure for ALS.
