Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Senators hit two home runs for the second consecutive night, but could not get by Altoona in a 4-2 loss on Independence Day at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona.

Brian Jeroloman (2-for-3) was the first Senator to homer as he cleared the wall in the right field corner to tie the game at 1-1 in the fifth inning. Kevin Keyes launched the third home run in his last four games to lead off the seventh inning. The solo shot cut the Altoona lead to 3-2 at the time. Drew Vettleson also produced a multi-hit game with back-to-back singles in his first two at-bats. The Senators put two runners on without scoring in the eighth. Harrisburg then drew three walks in the ninth to load the bases, but did not score.

Brett Brach allowed Altoona's first three runs in his six innings of work. Only two of the Curve's runs were earned to Brach, as he was able to scatter 10 hits while not walking a batter. Bryan Harper allowed an RBI single by Matt Curry in the seventh inning, extending Altoona's lead to the eventual final of 4-2.

Tomorrow night the two teams will start at 6:00 p.m. in Altoona. Harrisburg will send Brian Dupra to the mound against Altoona's Joan Montero. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 5:45 p.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
