
Kennesaw State Owls Take Flight to Morehead City

Morehead City, N.C- The Morehead City Marlins are pleased to announce the signing of Kennesaw State players, Bo Way and Nathan Harsh.
Way will be a vital part of the Marlins outfield this summer. He is currently in his junior season at Kennesaw State and has a team high .323 average, .393 on base percentage, .429 slugging percentage and 70 hits. He is also tied for the team lead in home runs with two, as well as RBI's with 27. The Brunswick, Ga native played his high school baseball at Glynn Academy where he was a two-time All-Georgia selection and was named MVP for team Georgia in the Sunbelt Classic twice.
At 6'6" and 230 pounds, Harsh will be an intimidating presence on the bump for the Marlins this season. The sophomore from Brunswick, Georgia has appeared in 10 games for the Owls this season, including six starts. In the 2013 campaign Harsh has a record of 1-3 and an ERA of 3.93 over 34.1 innings on the mound. He has racked up 40 strikeouts to just 11 walks. He played his high school baseball at Brunswick High School where he was a two-time USSSA All-American, three-time All-Region selection and was Named Brunswick's Pitcher of the Year his senior season. He was named the Pirates Most Valuable Player his junior season and was also selected as the Pitcher of the Year and Hitter of the Year, posting a 3.10 ERA while finishing the season with a 4-3 record and four saves during his senior year.
The Marlins open their season on May 28 on the road against the Fayetteville Swampdogs. They return to Morehead City on May 29 for the home opener at Puck O'Neal Field at Big Rock Stadium against the Forest City Owls.
The Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 17th season in 2013, the CPL features 14 teams playing North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 62 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
