July 15, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati captain and defender Kendall Waston has earned a place on Major League Soccer's Team of the Week presented by Audi for Week 19. This is Waston's second Team of the Week inclusion this season, he was also named to the bench for his performance in Week 3.
Waston was named to the team after recording an FCC single-game high of 15 clearances in FC Cincinnati's 2-1 victory against the Chicago Fire on July 13. The defender also added two interceptions, one tackle and one block in the match. Just two days before the match, FC Cincinnati announced that the club had signed Waston to a contract extension to make him an FC Cincinnati player beyond the 2019 MLS season. The Orange and Blue are 2-0-0 since the Costa Rican returned to the squad following the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup.
FC Cincinnati's next game will come on Thursday, July 18, when the team hosts a "White Out" match against D.C. United on ESPN at Nippert Stadium. Tickets for the game are on sale to the general public at fccincinnati.com/tickets or by calling 513-977-5425 (KICK).
