Syracuse Silver Knights News Release
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Kenardo Forbes has been named to the MASL Team of the Week for Week Six. He is the second Silver Knight to be named to a Team of the Week this season.
Forbes scored the final three Syracuse goals in its match against Florida on Friday, December 1st. The Silver Knights eventually won the match 6-5 over the Tropics.
This is the first time this season that Forbes has scored multiple goals in a match. The last time Forbes scored multiple goals in a game was against Florida in the final match of the 2016-17 MASL season. Forbes scored four goals in that match to help lead Syracuse to a 14-8 win.
Forbes was named the Silver Knights MVP last season - a campaign in which he scored 21 goals. He recorded 42 points and 21 assists to lead the team last year.
After Friday's game, Forbes is now tied with Joey Tavernese for the team lead in goals with seven. Forbes also now has 10 points on the season, second behind Tavernese, who has 12 points.
This marks the second time that Syracuse has had a player named to the MASL Team of the Week. Back in Week 2, Slavisa Ubiparipovic was named to the Team of the Week. The Bosnian totaled three goals and three assists over two games that weekend.
Andrew Coughlin also earned an honorable mention for this week's Team of the Week. He recorded a new career high in saves with 24 against Florida.
