Indianapolis Ice News Release
INDIANAPOLIS- The Indianapolis Ice is happy to announce that this Sunday will be "Ken Dilger Appreciation Day," when the Ice battles the Oklahoma City Blazers at 5:00 p.m. from the Pepsi Coliseum.
Dilger, 32, has played eight years professionally in the National Football League including seven years with the Indianapolis Colts. The productive tight end played his first year away from Indy this past season and was a member of the 2003 Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 34 games with the "Bucs" this past year, Dilger caught 34 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns.
Originally a second round pick (48th overall) of Indianapolis in the 1995 NFL Draft, Dilger played 104 games with the Colts and posted 261 receptions for 3,181 yards and 18 touchdowns. The former Pro Bowl tight end finished his tenure with the "Horseshoes" ranked second all-time among Colts tight ends in receptions trailing only John Mackey (320).
Away from the game, he plays host to the Ken Dilger Charity Golf Classic each summer to benefit Dilger Foundation and has raised more than $75,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and local charities.
The Super Bowl Champ will be on hand Sunday to participate in several on-ice activities in addition to signing autographs. The late matinee contest is a "Marsh Family Day," where one child 12 and under is admitted free for each full-paying adult.
Tickets are as low as $10 for the game and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including select Marsh Supermarkets, Karma Records, select L.S. Ayers and the Pepsi Coliseum and Conseco Fieldhouse box offices, or by calling 239-5151 or online at ticketmaster.com.
