Kelowna Falcons Fall in Walla Walla

Walla Walla, WA: The Kelowna Falcons would fall to the Walla Walla Sweets on Sunday night 7-3 despite a start from Brandon Marris.

The Sweets would score first in the bottom of the third, before the Falcons would tie it in the top of the fourth. A two out bases loaded single by Tucker Alexander to score Tyler Qualls would tie it at one.

In the bottom of the fifth the Sweets would take the lead for good, scoring two runs of Marris. Ben Ruff would double in a run, while Alex Bonczyk would tally an RBI single.

The Falcons bullpen would give up three more runs in the bottom of the seventh, putting the lead out of reach..

In the top of the ninth the Falcons would add two more, but it would be too little too late. Reed Lavallee would double home his third RBI, while Cameron Alvarado would also bring in an RBI.

Marris is hit with his third consecutive loss and will finish the season 7-3, as Sweets starter JJ Robison recorded the win.

Not only did the Falcons suffer a loss, but the Bellingham Bells would also lose keep the standings the same, the Falcons sill 3.5 games back with one game to go.

The Falcons (28-25) will play their final game of the 2012 regular season on Monday night, in a make-up game as they take on the Cowlitz Black Bears (23-27) who are in a playoff battle themselves in the West Division. The Bears are currently two games back of the Klamath Falls Gems for the second and final playoff spot.
