
Kelowna Falcons Crush Wenatchee

The Falcons offense exploded for their largest output of the season, beating the Wenatchee Applesox 13-2 on Saturday night.
Four Falcons hitters had multi-hit games as the offense collected 16 hits in total, led by catcher Erik Colombini who finished 4-4 with an RBI. Josh Croft had a three hit night, while Brandon Grimisley and Taylor Brown each had two hits. Grimsley and Jeff Nelson each had three RBIs.
The offense also took advantage of seven Applesox errors.
The Falcons jumped in front with a pair of runs in the first inning after a two out, two run single from Grimsley.
After the Sox scored in the top of the second, the offense came back with three in the bottom of the inning. Another two out rally started by a two run double by Nelson, who then scored on Brown's single.
In the fourth the Falcons scored seven runs taking advantage of three Applesox errors. Jerod Smith had a two run single and Trey Kamachi capped off the inning by driving in Kevin Biro.
The Falcons then scored in the fifth as Grimsley brought in his third run of the game, driving in Brown.
Starter Sam Murphy was great, throwing 4.1 innings, allowing both Applesox runs on six hits. Wyatt Mills recorded the his first win of the summer, throwing 3.2 innings, allowing one hit and striking out four.
The Falcons (8-18) and Sox (14-12) will play their series rubber match on Sunday at 6:05pm. UBC's Jeremy Newton (1-2) will get the start for the Falcons against 2-1 righty Drew Rasmussen.
