Kelowna Falcons News Release

Kelowna, BC: It was an exciting end at Elks Stadium on Friday night as the Kelowna Falcons' win streak hits two after a 3-2 come from behind win over the Corvallis Knights.

After the Falcons jump out to 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI sac fly from Greg Friesen, the Knights would tie it in the second. The offenses then went quiet.

Behind some solid pitching on both sides, hits were far and few between. Falcons' starter David Ernst was solid throwing six innings, allowing one run and three hits while striking out five.

The Knights would use three pitchers through six innings that were equally outstanding.

The fireworks would happen in the ninth as the Knights took the lead as Austin Barr slid past Falcons' catcher Tyler Qualls on a "bang-bang" play at home for a 2-1 advantage.

The Falcons would respond in the bottom of the ninth as the first two batters, Jonathan Munoz and Kyle Moses would reach base. After a sac bunt by Block Slavin, Cameron Alvarado singled to bring home Bryan Elias, who ran for Munoz. Then with Moses and the winning run at third, Jace Conrad hit a high chopper to the first baseman to give the Falcons their 15th win of the year.

Cord Cockrill (4-1) picked up the win in a relief appearance, while Knights pitcher Taylor Starr (0-2) was hit with the loss.

The Falcons (15-10) will host the Knights (18-11) in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon beginning with game one at 5:00pm. Buy one ticket on Saturday and watch both games of the twin bill.
