
Kelowna Ends Bend Streak 6-5

The Bend Elks' six-game winning streak came to an end Monday evening as the local West Coast League entry dropped a 6-5 decision to the Kelowna Falcons at Vince Genna Stadium.
Ricky Clark and Scotland Church combined for seven innings of two-hit relief to stifle the Elks' bats that had erupted for 64 runs in the preceding five games. Zach Close led Bend with two RBIs and Nick Lopez stroked two hits for the Elks.
Tyler Brown, Andrew Godbold and Kevin Biro had two hits each to lead the Falcons' nine hit attack with Godbold and Biro adding two RBIs a piece.
The Elks are 12-11, in third place in the WCL's South Division. Kelowna advances to 7-15.
Bend and Kelowna square off in game two of the three-game set on Two-Dollar Tuesday at 6:35 pm at Vince Genna Stadium.
