Wichita Wild News Release

The Indoor Football League (IFL) has announced that Wild defensive back and kick returner Randy Kelly has been named IFL Defensive Player of the Week for the Divisional Championship round of the playoffs. Kelly and the Wild defense held Omaha to their second lowest point total of the season in the Wild?s 39-34 victory. The victory ensured that the Wild will host the United Conference Championship game on Saturday vs. the RiverCity Rage.

Announced as Round One?s Special Teams Player of the Week last Wednesday, Kelly decided for this week he would show why he is also considered a top flight defender. In the victory game, Kelly registered nine solo tackles, four assists, and an interception of Beef QB James McNear that he returned 40 yards to set up a Wichita touchdown.

Other players recognized this week were Tommy Jones of El Paso as Offensive Player of the Week and Nathan Parseghian of Billings as Defensive Player of the Week.

Kickoff for Saturday?s game is set for 7:05 PM at Hartman Arena. Tickets for the game start at just $5. Fans can purchase tickets at the Hartman Arena Box Office from 10 AM to 4 PM today through Friday. The Box Office will open at 3:30 PM on Saturday.
