Kebs Sign 3 New Players

March 8, 2010 - Premier Basketball League (PBL)
Kebs de Laval News Release

Kebs GM Francis Mondou makes a powerful first move. The Quebec City Kebs announced the signing of 3 new players on Thursday March 4, 2010, who were on the court for the Kebs victorious match against Halifax Rainmen on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the PEPS Stadium, in Quebec City.

The Quebec City Kebs are determined to make a comeback in the Premier Basketball Leagues (PBL) rankings! Currently dead last in the league; however with the infusion of three new players it is possible that the Kebs could end the 2010 season in the middle ranks. In reality they are only 3 wins away from finishing fifth. "There is a clear gap between the first 4 teams and the remaining. We can always come back to finish the season strong despite our difficulties in the first half, "explains Jean-Sebastien Roy, Vice President Marketing Kebs."Fans are a little disappointed so far, but they are loyal and happy with the performance and intensity that the game offers," said thereafter Mr. Roy.

Mondou's strong analysis and action plan Francis Mondou, the Quebec City Kebs newly appointed, Director-General, believes that there is still time to act. "I have watched the team training for the last 4 weeks training and have been able to identify an area for improvement. Currently the Kebs have a low success rate in the ratio of pass-reversal (assist-to-turnover)," states, Mr. Mondou. This ratio shows the percentage of passes completed leading to a point, versus which ones fall into the hands of an opponent. To block this gap the Kebs signed: Brandon Morris, Brandon Cotton and Marlon Pompey.

Morris, (6'2" small forward) will provide great leadership within Kebs. "What I love about Morris is that not only can score lots of points, but his is involved the rebounds and passing during the games," states, Mr. Mondou. Morris started out playing for the University of Wisconsin (Milwaukee), before going on to play in New Zealand and Europe. He is an individual who gets very involved in the community; he has been captain for several occasions during his career.

Brandon Cotton, (6'0" guard) started out this season playing for the Vermont Frost Heaves, but a shoulder injury shortened his time on the court. "During a preseason game against us, he had scored 30 points! We are pleased he is joining us, "said Francis Mondou with a smile.

Pompey, (6 '8 centre) will fill in for Kebs start Centre Jonas Pierre, who is unable to play due to injuries. Pompey has played with the Texas A & M, and has just finished a contract in Germany with Schalke.

The arrival of these three players is a major long term investment for Kebs. "We want to show that we can finish the season well and prepare ourselves for the next season. All are under the age of 28 and have clauses in their contracts that would keep them on the team for next year," concludes, Mr. Mondou.

Flegler Exchanged Joseph Flegler, the Kebs explosive point guard was traded to Greenhawk of Maryland to make room for the new players and for the second round choice in 2011 draft picks.

The Vermont Frost Heaves Vs. the Quebec City Kebs March 12,2010 at 7:30pm: The doors will open at 6:30pm for pre-game activities, at the PEPS Stadium (University Laval). Tickets will be available at the door.
