With new signees Tyler Duschinsky and Nick Perioli, the Buffalo Stampede took the long bus ride from the Queen City to Burlington, Vt. to face the Vermont Frost Heaves. Unfortunately for the Stampede, they fell behind quickly in the game - at the half they were down 68-33 - en route to a 126-90 decimation. Kevin Ross was the top Stampeder with 22 points; Corey Herring had 19 and Markus Price finished with 17. Mike Norwood had 11 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.

For the second consecutive game, the Halifax Rainmen took a game into overtime. Unfortunately, for the second consecutive game, the Halifax Rainmen lost in overtime, falling Friday night 100-97 to the Quebec Kebs. Desmond Ferguson was the top rainmaker for the Rainmen, scoring 22 points - including five three-point baskets. Gary Ervin added 18 points, while Tony Bennett scored 15 points for Halifax. Eric Crookshank had 9 rebound and four blocked shots.

With their Friday night 110-96 triumph Friday night over the Vermont Frost Heaves, the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry have punched their ticket for the PBL postseason. Lawton-Fort Sill tore off a 32-22 first-quarter lead and never looked back. Wayne Marshall led all Cavs in scoring with 25 points; while DeAnthony Bowden and Shawn Daniels each scored 18 points. Bowden also had nine rebounds and seven assists.

In their last regular season home game at the Great Plains Coliseum, the Cavs went out in style, winning over Manchester on Sunday afternoon, 104-89. The victory, which secured a playoff berth for Lawton-Fort Sill, was punctuated by 20 points from Brandon Dean, 13 points from DeAnthony Bowden, and a double-double of 14 rebounds and 12 points garnered by Tim Ellis. The victory was the fifth consecutive win by the Cavs - it was also the fifth straight game in which Lawton-Fort Sill scored over 100 points AND kept their opponents under 100 points.

The struggling Manchester Millrats traveled to the Great Plains Coliseum for a Sunday afternoon battle with the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry. But after starting off at the short end of a 27-15 first quarter, the Millrats lost the contest 104-89. Julian Allen was the top scorer for Manchester, with 24 points. Anthony Anderson added 13, while 11 points apiece were garnered by Charles Bronson and Stanley Ocitti.

Byron Mouton's 30 team-high points were not enough for the Maryland GreenHawks Saturday night, as the team lost to the Rochester Razorsharks 140-107 at Gaithersburg, Md. The other Mouton on the team, Terrence Mouton, finished with 15 points and 10 assists; while Michael Anderson had 13 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double of his own.

The Quebec Kebs' ten-game losing streak is over. In front of a packed crowd at PEPS, the Kebs earned their second win of the season, a 100-97 overtime thriller against Halifax. Samuel Audet-Sow led the Kebs with 23 points on the scoreboard; Jamaal Wise added 22 points and the newly-signed Brandon Morris scored 17 points. John Ruffus was the top rebounder with 12 boards; he also scored 11 points for a double-double.

On Saturday night, the Rochester Razorsharks took apart the Maryland GreenHawks, winning 140-107. Keith Friel returned to his scoring prowess, as he led the Sharks with 23 points, 18 of those points coming from 3-point range. Lincoln Smith added 21 points, while Jerice Crouch (19) and Glen Dandridge (17) also had good scoring nights for Rochester.

The Vermont Frost Heaves had a two-game weekend run at Burlington Memorial Auditorium, where the Green Mountain crew have never lost in three professional basketball seasons spanning two leagues. But on Friday night, it was the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry who gave the Frost Heaves their first loss in the building, defeating Vermont 110-96. Vermont was led in scoring by Marshall Brown with 19 and Aaron Cook with 12 points. Ross Demasi added 10 for the Heaves.

The Frost Heaves' fortunes rebounded Saturday afternoon, as the Buffalo Stampede came to town. What started out as a 4-3 Buffalo lead turned into a 23-9 Vermont run, as the Frost Heaves finished with a 126-90 victory over Buffalo at the Burlington Memorial Auditorium. Seven different Frost Heaves scored in double figures, including Aaron Cook (22), Marshall Brown (19), Jared Carter (16) and Jeral Davis (15). Aaron Cook also led the Frost Heaves in rebounding, pulling down 12 boards. Jeral Davis also had a team-high six blocked shots in the Vermont victory, which keeps the Frost Heaves in the playoff hunt.

QUEBEC'S SAMUEL AUDET-SOW NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The Premier Basketball League is pleased to announce that Samuel Audet-Sow of the Quebec Kebs is the PBL Player of the Week for the week ending March 7, 2010. This is the first time a Quebec player has earned Player of the Week honors this season. Audet-Sow, a 6'5" 180-pound small forward from Laval University, was instrumental in ending the Kebs' losing streak; he scored a team-high 23 points in Quebec's 100-97 overtime win over Halifax Friday night.
