
KC NWSL Closes 2021 NWSL Draft with Two Picks

KANSAS CITY - Kansas City NWSL completed the team's inaugural NWSL Draft with two final selections. The club selected Alex Loera (No. 36) and Brookelynn Entz (No. 38) to finish out the team's picks.
Alex Loera, Defender, Santa Clara University - As a freshman in 2017, Loera earned All-WCC Freshman Team and Second Team All-WCC honors. The next year she moved to First Team All-WCC and First Team All-West Region. In 2019, Loera started all 64 matches for Santa Clara, scoring four goals and four assists along the way.
Brookelyn Entz, Midfielder, Kansas State University - Entz is a hometown pick for Kansas City, hailing from the town of Newton, Kansas. She owns 28 career, season and single game records for K-State. In 2020 she led the Wildcats with 630 minutes played in eight games.
After making six picks in the 2021 NWSL Draft, coach Huw Williams is excited with his current roster.
"We felt incredibly lucky all night that the players we targeted were available for us at each step. Our coaches did a lot of work to research the best options for us in every round and I feel like it paid off for us in each round."
Kansas City opens training camp on February 1 as they prepare for the 2021 Challenge Cup in April and the regular season to follow.
