Nashville Kats News Release

NASHVILLE (Nov. 4, 2004) – The Nashville Kats will hold their 2005 season kickoff party, featuring a headline performance by country music superstar and Kats minority owner Tim McGraw on Fri., January 14 at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville. The time for the event has not yet been set. The concert is exclusively for Kats season ticket holders and selected sponsors.

"This concert by Tim McGraw is going to be an outstanding way to kickoff the Kats' first season," said K.S. "Bud" Adams, the team's majority owner. "It is going to be a special night when Kats season ticket holders are going to get an opportunity to meet our team and see one of the world's top performers."

After already establishing himself as one of country music's most popular and respected performers, McGraw officially joined the ownership group of the Arena Football League franchise on Monday. In announcing his involvement with the team, McGraw also disclosed that the concert he will perform for Kats season ticket holders in January will be his only live, headline performance in Nashville in 2005.

"It's going to be a fun show, I love playing at home," said McGraw. "Come join us for a great way to kick-off Nashville's best arena football year yet!"

McGraw is experiencing his career-best year with the launch of his new record Live Like You Were Dying, which debuted with sales of 766,000 in its first week and has now gone on to sell 2 million copies. He broke a 30-year record with a 10-week number one single with the album's title track, and has become the only country music artist to have a number one song on Billboard's Mainstream Top 40 with "Over and Over," his duet with Hip Hop artist Nelly. He also celebrated a top-rated $50 million grossing 2004 concert tour, made his critically-acclaimed acting debut in October in the feature film "Friday Night Lights," and is soon to host his second NBC-TV concert special, which will air the night before Thanksgiving.

The Nashville Kats begin play in the Arena Football League's Central Division in January 2005. The expansion franchise will keep the name and identity of the previous Nashville Kats arena football franchise, which played in the AFL from 1997-2001. Tickets are available by phone at 615-565-4700, or through Katsonline.com.
