Chicago Rush News Release
Free agent Jeremy McDaniel, Chicago's second-leading receiver in 2004, has agreed to terms on a one-year contract to return to the Rush for 2005, the team announced today.
McDaniel (6-1, 205, Arizona) caught 74 passes for 933 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Rush last season, and his ability to block was instrumental in the success of Chicago's running attack that gained a team-record 518 yards and scored an AFL record 49 rushing touchdowns.
"It's great to have Jeremy back," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "In addition to being a quality person, he is a big, physical football player who is one of the better blocking receivers in AFL. This year he has agreed to come in and move to WR/LB to help take advantage of his size and make this team even better."
The 2005 season will be McDaniel's third in the AFL, after spending three seasons with the Buffalo Bills. He has played in 25 career AFL games, recording 150 catches for 1,748 yards and 28 touchdowns.
The Rush kicks off its fifth anniversary season in January with the 2005 home opener set for noon on Sunday, February 6, against Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul. Rush season tickets, beginning at just $64, currently are on sale. To reserve your tickets, or for more information about 2005 Rush season tickets, fans can call the Rush at (877) Rush-Tix (787-4849) or visit the team's Web site, www.chicagorush.com.
