Sporting Kansas City News Release
(June 12, 2009) - The Kansas City Wizards (4-5-4, 16 pts) host the New England Revolution (4-3-4, 16 pts) Saturday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 7:30 p.m. CT. Kansas City and New England are two of four teams tied on 16 points for 3rd place in the highly competitive Eastern Conference. A win Saturday is important for both teams, as they will be out of action in League play for two weeks following the game. Both Kansas City and New England will take part in the 3rd edition of SuperLiga, the club competition that pits U.S. teams against Mexican teams.
After Saturday's game, the Wizards do not have another League match until Saturday, July 4. During that time, Kansas City will play four competitive matches: Three in SuperLiga and one in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
