THE WEEK THAT WAS:

The Comets suffered two road losses last week and remain in seventh place in the MISL.

Comets, 4, at Chicago Storm, 7 (March 12, 2005)

After a scoreless first quarter, the Storm put together a string of goals for a 3-0 lead. Ibrahim Kante put the Comets on the board in the third quarter, Goran Hunjak added a goal in the third and fourth quarter, and Vlatko Andonovski scored one with just seconds remaining, but the Comets could not comeback and fell 7-4 to the Chicago Storm. Chris Damico started in goal for the first time since Feb. 9 and saved nine of 15 shots in the loss.

Comets, 3, at Milwaukee Wave, 10 (March 13, 2005)

The Comets again found themselves trying to play catch up as the Wave took a 5-0 lead in the first two quarters. The Comets scored three goals in the third and fourth quarters, but it wasn't enough as the Wave defeated the Comets 10-3. The Comets are now 0-3 against the Wave with only one more opportunity to defeat Milwaukee coming on March 31 at Kemper Arena.

As of Monday, March 14, the Cleveland Force hold control of the fourth and final playoff spot. With 11 games remaining, the Comets are three and a half games behind the Force and will need to put together a winning streak to ensure a berth to the playoffs.
