
Kalamazoo Kings back on WQSN in 2004

Kalamazoo, Mich., February 23, 2004 - WQSN, Kalamazoo's leading sports station, today announced that the Kalamazoo Kings, Kalamazoo's professional minor league baseball club in the independent Frontier League, will return to the station for a second consecutive season. The entire 96 game season will be broadcast on The Sports Station AM 1660 WQSN.
"We are pleased to be working with WQSN again for the 2004 season," said Joe Rosenhagen, Kalamazoo Kings General Manager. "We were very impressed with the production and presentation of our games in 2003. WQSN provided an excellent broadcast team, and gave us a first rate, great sounding broadcast."
WQSN Program Director, Ryan Maguire, will again team with Rob Ford to announce the games. Ford, a graduate of Syracuse University, was honored for his efforts this past season by being named 2003 Frontier League Broadcaster of the Year. Ford will call the away games solo and will team with McGuire for the home broadcasts.
"Rob and I are proud to be affiliated with such a fine organization," said Ryan Maguire, Program Director, WQSN. "Last year we had a great time bringing the Kings' action to all the fans and are looking forward to an even better 2004."
Fairfield Broadcasting Company, local owner and operator of WQSN is committed to local sports in the Kalamazoo area. During the Kings' off-season, WQSN broadcasts Kalamazoo Wings Hockey, and sister-station WKLZ (AM 1470) originates Kalamazoo College football and basketball and Kalamazoo Christian High School football and basketball games. The three AM stations the company operates, including WKZO (AM590), present an extensive schedule of professional and major college sporting events year round.
