
Kaczperski's 38 saves lifts Lone Star past Odessa, 4-1

Odessa, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes (25-28-4) put 38 shots on net Friday against the Lone Star Brahmas (38-11-8), but they only managed one goal eventually losing 4-1 at Ector County Coliseum.
The Lone Star Brahmas took the opening period lead on the power play after Cam Clarke's shot from the point hit the near post, and Alex Berardinelli (33) scooped home the loose rebound that landed behind Jon Flakne. The Jacks failed to score on their only power play chance, but Derek Brown (14) tied the game at 18:05 on a low slot second chance.
In the 2nd, Clarke (9) ripped a high-slot shot past Flakne to bury the only goal of the period just two minutes and 57 seconds in. The Jacks went on the only power play of the 2nd but were unable to tie the game on the man advantage.
In the final frame, Martin Mellberg (14) extended the lead to 3-1 with a top shelf snipe at 5:15 and Hogan Davidson put the game away (11) at 19:01 with an empty-netter.
Flakne (7-4-) took the loss while Kaczperki (24-6-3) was solid in net making a season-high 38 save en route to the win.
